Yesterday I passed my oral exams (with the authors of these books: Tides of History: Ocean Science and Her Majesty’s Navy, Mass Destruction the Men and giant Mines That Wired America and Scarred the Planet
[recently awarded the George Perkins Marsh Prize for the best new book in environmental history], and All the World’s a Fair: Visions of Empire at American International Expositions, 1876-1916
). Now to finish the final draft of my Tyndall/Darwin paper, a paper for the philosophy of science class I am taking this semester, and a bunch of Tyndall letter transcribing, and I’ll be done! I will have an MA in history.
Thence to Portland!
Congratulations, Michael.
