Emily Dickinson on Faith & Science

I am sitting here withdrawing old books from MSU’s library, and I was just flipping through The Oxford Book of American Verse (1952), and came to this poem by Emily Dickinson:

FAITH is a fine invention
For gentlemen who see;
But microscopes are prudent
In an emergency!
